My wife has just applied for a L1-B extension (it generally takes about 12 weeks i.e. 70 days). Her assignment is ending in 50 days and she plans to apply for H4 (I have a valid H1). I have a couple of questions:1) When to apply for H4? She must have a H4 before her assignment ends? Or she can apply for H4 once her assignment ends?2) If she applies for H4, What happens to L1 extension (already filed but not yet granted)? She can hold both Visa at the same time? For COS from L1 to H4, will she need to go back to India or can be done by going to Canada?
